Summary

This is a full-time position that is responsible for selling Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) and other pipe valves and fittings (PVF) for the oil and gas industry to current customers and developing new customers in the Wyoming and northern Colorado markets. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Makes professional sales calls in person, by phone, and digitally to customers and potential customers involved in the OCTG/PVF buying process.
  • Successfully manages large and complex customer projects.
  • Leverages relationships with suppliers to negotiate optimum pricing for project quotes.
  • Mentors and trains lower level Sales Account Managers.
  • Develops ethical professional relationships with customers, vendors, and peers through trust and respect.
  • Works with inside sales support to prepare commercial quotes and proposals to maximize overall profitability.
  • Develops market analysis of assigned regions and positions the company for commercial success.
  • Works with the Credit Department to collect outstanding receivables.
  • Documents customer information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Resolves customer complaints.
  • Works with Inventory Coordinator to keep excess & obsolete (E&O) inventory at a minimum.
  • Participates in inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Keeps abreast of new products and services available in the market and makes recommendations to customers.
  • Works with Sales Manager to develop business forecasts and yearly budgets.
  • Participates in industry professional organizations.

Qualifications

  • A high school degree with ten (10) years of related sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Ability to successfully manage large and complex OCTG/PVF orders and projects.
  • Expertise in OCTG/PVF products and associated equipment.
  • Expertise in sales and marketing techniques, financial principles, and computer operations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to successfully work in an unsupervised environment.
  • Highly skilled in oral and written communications; listens and acquires clarification, and responds well to questions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • English language fluency, verbal and written. 
  • Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
